About our Website

Our web­site has been gra­ciously hosted by Joan Sotkin, out of Santa Fe, New Mex­ico, for many years. She is a long-time stu­dent of Vedanta. We are grate­ful for her support.She finally decided to close down her server, so since Jan­u­ary 2013, our web­site is hosted with HostGator.

Our web­site is built using Word­Press, a pow­er­ful con­tent man­age­ment sys­tem orig­i­nally devel­oped for blog­ging, and now widely used for devel­op­ing web­sites too. It is open source and free of charge. The lay­out is pow­ered by The­matic, a free Word­Press theme frame­work, and a cus­tom child theme. Two dozen or so plu­g­ins help to incor­po­rate advanced fea­tures, like import­ing our Picasa web album into the site, play­ing mp3 sound files, and mon­i­tor­ing sta­tis­tics. All these are pro­vided free, part of the Free Open Source Soft­ware move­ment. Our grat­i­tude to the many vol­un­teers who make all this possible.
